Sabaneyev Bridge

Description

Sabaneyev Bridge over Voennyy Descent was built in 1829-1836 by military engineer A.Kazarinov. The project was drawn up by engineer J.Upton. The architects were F.Boffo and G.Torichelli. The bridge was renovated in 1866 and in the 1980Тs.

The bridge was a tribute to General I.Sabaneyev (1770-1829) who had taken part in Generalissimo A.Suvorov’s campaigns.

The bridge offers a view of another bridge: MotherТs-in-law. The big green new building on the right is a bank. The Scientists Society is next to the bridge as well as Stolyarskiy Music School and Ekaterininskaya Square.
