Ukraine has the second biggest number of so called righteous gentiles, that is the people who saved Jews from the German genocide during the Second World War while risking their own life and safety. This title is given by Yad va Shem in Israel.
This walk was set up in Odessa in 2001 to remember the Odessites who had saved Jews. There is a tree dedicated to each person who saved a Jew.
The Holocaust memorial is at the beginning of the walk.
